25 Week Update

Wednesday Weekly Update
How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Forgot to check this morning.
Any new maternity clothes? No, but still needing some tank tops for the summer.
Any new stretch marks? The same.
Sleep: Uncomfortable.
Best moment this week: Just watching my belly move as this little man kicks and punches and rolls around.
Movement: I have a crazy man living inside of me. This boy can MOVE!
Food cravings: Not really.
Gender: BOY!!!
Labor Signs: Menstrual-like cramps in my abdomen and lower back a few times a week.
Belly Button in or out? Top is getting flatter, bottom is still in.
What I miss: A good night's sleep.
What I am looking forward to: Maternity photos tonight with Stacey!
Weekly Wisdom: Schedule your glucose tolerance test for first thing in the morning.
Milestones: We've moved onto a new fruit! Also, Baby 2 See says that there is a 50% survival rate for babies born at 25 weeks.

How Big is Baby?
Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant

The Bump: That oh-so-handy sense of equilibrium is kicking in, and baby's learning to distinguish right side up from upside down.

Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

Got a dark line running down your belly? That's your linea nigra, and it's totally normal. Pregnancy hormones might also be making your complexion a little spotty.

Baby Gaga: From head to foot, your little one is now about 13.5 inches long, and they're about a pound and a half in weight. They've also started to finally put on the baby fat, which will be the one main ongoing change in appearance in the upcoming weeks.

Baby Center: Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
