26 Week Update - a little late.

Wednesday Weekly Update

How far along? 26 weeks on 8/5 (sorry, this is late)
Total weight gain/loss: No change. Still +15 lbs.
Any new maternity clothes? No, but still needing some tank tops for the summer.
Any new stretch marks? No. Let's keep it that way, please LO?
Sleep: Wish I could take naps. So tired lately.
Best moment this week: Starting childbirth classes.
Movement: All.The.Time.
Food cravings: Have definitely got my appetite for chocolate and other desserts back that was lost in the first tri!
Gender: BOY!!!
Labor Signs: Cramps haven't been as frequent this past week, so that's been nice.
Belly Button in or out? The same. Stretched and getting flatter.
What I miss: Not being so clumsy.
What I am looking forward to: 3rd trimester starting!
Weekly Wisdom: Start thinking about your birth plan.
Milestones: Getting down into the double digits this week! It won't be much longer...

How Big is Baby?
Weeks 25-28 (month 6): Eggplant
The Bump: Baby's soaking up your antibodies, getting her immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and she'll soon be practicing the blink...perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes.

Don't panic if your uterus suddenly starts tightening and relaxing -- Braxton Hicks contractions often begin around this time. They're simply your body's way of practicing and preparing for labor. (If the contractions are regular or particularly painful, call your doc just to be sure it's not the real thing.)

Baby Gaga: Your miniature baby isn't so teeny tiny anymore: weighing just under 2 pounds and measuring about 14 inches from head to foot. At long last, your little swimmer can see the womb! Your miracle’s little eyelids have finally separated (they were fused closed previously). In addition to seeing their little studio in your belly, they’ve recently acquired the ability to say “yes” and “no” in rudimentary sign language as they can now move their head back and forth. This is also the time where your little super star’s head hair is starting to grow! A cute little cowlick or two may be springing into position right now, getting ready for years of cute-but-stubborn bed-head.

Baby Center: The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.
